Perth East located in Milverton, ON Canada has a large population of Amish residents whose home use woodstoves for heating and cooking create a significant structure fire risk. Perth East has adapted as a department to meet their needs and to serve the community.
What led us to this kind of configuration was a story where we had a patient that we couldn't get out of the elements. It was cold outside. We pulled them out of the water. And I was thinking to myself at that time, if I only had room inside my truck, I could put him in there. That's what led me to this type of design here. I can actually fit someone in here on a spine board if I need to.
